Retention Plans
Dr. Cooke recommends the 5-Year Retainer Protection Plan because retainers play a critical role in protecting the long-term results of orthodontic treatment, and most patients will need replacement retainers at some point after braces or Invisalign.
Teeth naturally want to shift over time, and having easy access to replacement retainers helps safeguard the time, effort, and financial investment you've made in treatment.
Patients often need new retainers when:
- A retainer is lost or accidentally thrown away (very common with teens)
- A retainer is broken, cracked, or warped
- Normal wear causes the retainer to no longer fit as well as it should
- Dental work (fillings, crowns, implants, or bonding) changes tooth shape or fit
- A backup retainer is needed for peace of mind or travel
Retainer Protection Plan
The Retainer Protection Plan helps families avoid unexpected costs, reduces stress if something happens to a retainer, and makes it easier to maintain a healthy, stable smile long-term.
What's Included
When you enroll in the Retainer Protection Plan, you'll enjoy locked-in rates and predictable coverage for a full five years, including:
- First Set of Retainers — included as part of your investment
- Retainer Checks — complimentary visits for five years to evaluate your retainers as needed and keep your smile on track
- Bonded Retainer Repairs — covered during your first year, so unexpected fixes won't catch you off guard
- Clear Retainer Replacements — available at a significantly reduced rate per arch for five years, whenever you need them
We also securely store your final digital scan, which allows us to fabricate a replacement retainer based on the exact position your teeth were in when you completed treatment — essentially preserving your smile at the point it looked and functioned its best. Fees will apply if dental work has altered tooth shape or position.
Why It's Worth It
Retainer fees and repair costs can add up over time — and without a plan, those prices are subject to change. The Retainer Protection Plan locks in your rates for the entire five-year period, so you always know what to expect and can avoid unexpected out-of-pocket costs down the road.
Whether you're finishing treatment or already in retention, the Retainer Protection Plan is a simple, smart way to protect your results for years to come.
